Hello Friends,
Just letting some of you know that Tasha died at home early Wednesday morning, I think around 4 a.m. Some of you were aware that she had undergone 3 recent surgeries to remove malignant mammary tumors. While she had rebounded remarkably well from all of her surgeries, including her last, she had declined in health in recent weeks but was still walking, navigating stairs, going through the agility tunnel :-), eating small amounts of food, drinking and doing her business as usual. Her end was a peaceful one, I think. She died while resting in the hallway, where she preferred to sleep. Her body just finally gave out on her, I think, but her respirations were still good and she seemed to be very content, despite her increasing inability to navigate during those last overnight hours. She indeed made it easy on us and I had hoped and prayed it would be as easy as possible on her, as well. She was a wonderful, talented dog and we miss her tremendously.
We are grieving here, including the dogs and cats, especially Simon. He and Tasha were very close and he is not taking it too well. Tasha was 13 years old on Jan. 20 of this year.
If you speak to others who know us, I don't mind if you would spread the news.
