Lori Fournier’s Wren, handled by Barbara Stone
December 15, 2007 – December 18, 2018
“Wren was the puppy Lori Fournier kept from the last litter she bred. When Lori died, the litter were 13 months old, and Wren came to the Portland area to live with Lori's son, daughter-in-law, and grandchildren. I had promised Lori that I'd finish her championship, but after putting in the work to get her that far, it was blindingly obvious that this was a dog that needed regular mental and physical exercise. I continued to train with her in agility and rally, and then took up nosework after Eri died. Wren was a fantastic working dog, always up for whatever it was we were working on that day. I miss her terribly even though she didn't actually live with me. She helped me teach my classes of junior handlers how to deal with a high drive dog, loved running with them in trials and practices, and would work for anyone who had ever had treats or toys to share with her. She was phenomenal with children of all ages and helped the oldest child in her family cope with his autism. Wren is survived by my microdustmop, Jaime (Havanese), the notadustmop, Louie (whippet), and her human families, Scott, Brenna, Aaron and Lauren, Kim, Carolyn and me.”

Wren is occasionally running with the junior handlers that I teach for our club. This is from Wren's (and Madison's) first USDAA trial this spring. Madison is responsible for Wren's first Gamblers and Snooker legs! I'm thrilled that she will work so nicely for the kids.

Wren is technically owned by Lori Fournier's estate. Lori was a BCCA member in good standing at the time of her death. I am Wren's 'manager'? 'agent'? for lack of a better term! She lives with Lori's son and daughter-in-law and I do her grooming, training and handling. She has just started competing in agility and rally. Barbara
