Ch Windfiddler's Still Cruisin x Ch Chelsic Limerick O'Duinnin
Today, Martin Luther King's birthday, will have a double meaning for me from now on. My vet and friend, who owns an O'Duinnin pup herself, came over on her lunch break to share some quiet time with DeLorean. After John and I gave her multiple pieces of her favorite KFC, she was put down gently. She now sleeps in my back yard under a shady live oak where she can rest in peace. Sadly, she lost her vision, hearing and sense of smell three weeks ago but I was incapable of letting go. I can not express how sad it is to see a loved one unable to find a door or even a plate of food. She had to be led outside and then would wander in circles if left alone. I had hopes that a new medicine would make a difference, but she continued to get worse. The hardest part was knowing that she no longer knew ME. Today I know that she is well again and waiting.......
She has a wonderful companion, her mother Limerick, to keep her company until we meet again. Good bye my sweet, perfect friend.
